The Kofi Annan Peace Prize

Mr. Kofi Annan was a former Ghanaian international diplomat and Secretary General of the United Nations who devoted his entire life to the pursuit of world peace and development. The Kofi Annan Peace Prize seeks to honor individuals who distinguish themselves in service to humanity in a manner that Mr. Annan did.

An admitted member can apply for an Honors Award. This award is given by the Center under its National Security Program in recognition of a member whose outreach or publication  has had the effect of furthering public awareness of the Center and the field of security law .

CSDS Africa members can expect to receive  mentorship, job placement information  as well as opportunities to participate in local and international security programs, study trips and research to deepen their knowledge and networks.

CSDS AFRICA SCHOLARSHIP PROGRAM

The CSDS Africa Scholarship Program is open to the young people aged 18 years and below an enrolled in Senior High School. Applicants must possess excellent communication and research skills.

THE DICKSON PRIZE IN SECURITY LAW

From 2019, CSDS Africa will award the Dickson Prize in Security Law. This comprises a cash prize (USD 300.00), a Bronze Trophy, a Dickson Prize Lecture and a CSDS Fellowship to an individual who presents to the Center, an original piece work that advances or shines significant light on the field of security law.

Inspired by the 2016 publication “Dickson on Principles of Security Law” (DOPSL), and internationally by the Dickson Prize in Medicine and the Dickson Prize in Science, established in 1969 by Joseph Z. Dickson and Agnes Fischer Dickson, the Dickson Prize in Security Law seeks to deepen national and international interest in securico-legal issues generally, and  topics covered by DOPSL in particular:
